About this role…

The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing financial statements and tax returns, overseeing compliance obligations, and managing internal financial processes. You will play a key role in supporting business decisions and driving continuous improvement across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare tax returns, financial statements, and compliance reports for companies, trusts,
  
  partnerships, SMSFs, and sole traders
  
• Review BAS, FBT, GST, and SMSF returns
  
• Liaise with the ATO directly regarding tax matters
  
• Manage general ledger integrity and oversee month-end/year-end close
  
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, management reports, and variance analyses
  
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed asset registers
  
• Support budgeting, forecasting
  
• Drive process improvements and support internal controls and audits
  
• Use Xero, Xero Practice Manager,
  
  Qualifications / Skills:
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  
• Must be CPA qualified
  
• With 2-5 years’ experience in Australian Accounting firm
  
• Must be proficient in Xero and Excel (advanced formulas)
  
• Strong technical skills in Australian tax and accounting standards (AASB)
  
• High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
  
• Excellent communication and time management skills
  
• A proactive team player who takes ownership and meets deadlines
